Lubbock Christian University and CoNetrix are joined by other Lubbock organizations to help promote the event and champion cybersecurity awareness for the Lubbock business community.

According to a recent Stanford University study, human error is a key component of 88% of cybersecurity breaches. Managing employee cyber risk is essential for your organization to avoid a user-related data breach and demonstrate regulatory compliance if necessary.

Here are some practical tips that any small business can implement today to strengthen your organization’s cybersecurity:

Train employees on how to spot malicious emails and phone calls

· Create unique and complex passwords for all accounts

Keep track of systems and software that store critical business data

· Use multi-factor authentication for high-risk systems

Engage an independent third party to check your organization’s systems for vulnerabilities

Companies interested in learning more about these tips or learning more about cybersecurity topics are invited to the Cybersecurity Symposium on October 12.
